They sing their family song, summoning their cattle to their wells, and the animals are drawn to the troughs recognizing which song is theirs. . In the morning this land belongs to the Samburu and their cattle, but at night, it’s taken over by mighty elephants who come to share the hydrating salvation these wells provide. As a fascinating example of humans and wildlife co-existing, the shared singing wells have been a practice of the Samburu for hundreds of years. .
