Here's how it works: go to my profile on Share Some Style and click “get styled”. You’ll tell me a bit about your style goals, I’ll respond with answers to your questions and some outfit inspiration, and then we’ll set up a time for a “closet audit”.

We'll meet at your home (if you're in the Pittsburgh area) or online through video chat. I'll go through your wardrobe piece-by-piece, and help you create all-new looks by mixing and matching your current clothes.

  A high-waist is a style staple I believe every woman should embrace at some point in her life. Ever since I discovered the benefits of wearing a high-waist jean, trouser or skirt I've never looked back. I will admit that finding a high-waist that perfectly compliments your body is no easy task, which is why I have to stress that patience is a virtue when shopping for high waist styles. You have to consider the material along with the cut. I've highlighted a couple of common styles that work with most body types, as well as tell you where you can buy these beauties. 

High waisted denim. I am wearing a high-waisted side zipper jean short from American Apparel. When you try on a high waist jean you want to look at where the top of the jean is hitting on your belly.

Does it cover your belly-button or is it hitting directly underneath it? I prefer to have the top of the jean hit above my belly-button. High waisted pants are made smaller at the top because they're meant to clench your waist and accentuate your hips giving your body a coke-bottle shape, so it is important that your jeans are resting at the correct part of your hip in order to achieve this look.

When you have a curvier body like myself it is nice to wear denim that is stretchy and allows movement, but also hugs your body enough to create a silhouette. American Apparel is a great place for these styles. Their Easy Jeans along with their High-Waisted Riding pants are two of the most comfortable pants I own. They make any body look great! 

High waisted skirts. Skirts are the most versatile with different body shapes and sizes. Ariana's skirt above is made of a jersey material that's also very stretchy. This material is even more comfortable than the high-waist jean. Ariana has a petite frame and loves wearing high-waisted mini skirts like this because they manage to elongate her torso without taking length away from her legs.

Bottoms that are high-waisted are usually made of a stretchy material at the waistband which is great. This makes it possible to wear fitted high waisted skirts while still feeling comfortable in your outfit. 

High-waists can be intimidating, they draw attention to what is considered for many woman a "problem-area", but what we forget is that in order to allow high-waists to work their magic on our bodies like their meant to, we need to help them by picking material that forgives any lumps and bumps that we want to keep tucked away. Remember this little tip when shopping and allow your world to be rocked by the best invention since red lips. Be confident being a women and showing off your curves!

When looking for this style a great place to start is ASOS where they have some great high-waisted styles including the River Island Tube Pant!

Ever wanted to shop in a store that’s affordable and has a mix of vintage pieces and brand name and designer goods in the same place? Look no further. In the center of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania lies a cute store filled with unique finds and sometimes even barely used or worn designer merchandise.

I initially found out about this place from a friend that had recently moved into the Bloomfield area. Knowing my love for everything fashion and vintage, I googled info about the store, found the address and was on my way to venture out!

There, on the corner of Liberty Ave and State Way lays a beautifully unique store called ‘Clothes Minded’.  Don’t let the name fool you though. The merchandise is more “one-of-a-kind” than anything. The owner of the boutique, Josh doesn’t like to consider his store a consignment shop (even though they do buy and trade) but more of a vintage shop that sells various pieces that caters to literally almost anyone for affordable prices.

The little things really do make a difference. I was especially taken away by the creativity that was shown all throughout the store. One of my faves was how they use mini records as size tags. Not only was that something I’ve never seen before, they made browsing through clothes so much simpler.

Knowing and understanding the space that they do have, Clothes Minded keeps and maintains tidiness and organization, leaving an aisle in between for each gender. Some of the pieces such as accessories and shoes are mixed in depending on style, however they are always laid out nicely for customers to view without doing too much rummaging around.

Now, remember how I mentioned that there are also designer goods here? Authenticated by Josh himself, you can find yourself some real good finds. Sometimes you can even find pieces like this exclusive Louis Vuitton coat, or this Dolce & Gabbana leopard jacket. Talk about that couture selection. You need to check this store out!

Fall Fashion Aside from us San Franciscans finally gearing up for summer weather, fall is right around the corner. And that means it’s time for pumpkin lattes and fall fashion. So put away those summer dresses and pull out your fall sweaters and scarfs. 

To help you get ready, here’s a list of the top 5 trends to watch out for this fall.

1. Attention-Grabbing Outerwear

With cooler weather on its way, you’ll need to grab a jacket in the morning. So why not grab a jacket that is going to turn some heads? Attention-grabbing outerwear is all the rage this fall. Just remember, keep it simple with the rest of your outfit when wearing a really extravagant jacket or coat.

This season, look for a fun leather jacket, in black or brown. You can wear a leather jacket with jeans or even a dressier skirt. The moto style jacket also looks great in a cotton fabric.

Military jackets are also a trend to watch out for this fall. This style doesn’t always have to be masculine, or green. Some military inspired jackets still incorporate girly-er touches, like this peplum jacket.

2. Animal Prints

Don’t put away your leopard print quite yet. That’s right, leopard is still big. Whether you’re rocking a skirt, top, or heels, leopard is sticking around for fall. One word of caution; beware of leopard overload! If you wearing a leopard skirt, try to pair with a neutral or black heel.

3. Oxblood

Oxblood may sound funny, but it’s a seriously fierce color. A blend of red and brown, this color is a definite must-have for the fall. Some retailers will name this color burgundy or even pinot noir, but it’s easy to spot!

Try a pair of oxblood skinny jeans, like these from Banana Republic. These jeans go well with brown boots or even some leopard flats.

4. Over-the-knee boots

Boots are always in style for the fall. This year, look for over-the-knee boots. Unless you’re hitting up the clubs, try to dress down an over-the-knee boot to avoid the “pretty woman” look. Over-the-knee boots always pair nicely with skinny jeans and a sweater.

5. Statement Necklaces

Statement necklaces come in all shapes, sizes and colors. You can wear a statement necklace with a casual top or a cocktail dress. Just like opening a nice bottle of wine, it’s a special occasion when you wear a statement necklace. But just remember, don’t over-do it. If you’re wearing a statement necklace, tone down your earrings, bracelets or rings.

The fall 2013 runway was full of grunge-inspired looks. If you’re not quite ready to wear a jean vest and flannel, try a necklace that is a little rough around the edges like this one from J.Crew.
