Shared Identity
My publication was about my family history, written by my grandfather. I wanted to look into the way he collected the information that made up the publication, and I found out a lot of the document was based off word of mouth. This has led me to wonder about sharing personal stories with others online and drawing similarities between families that have no connection at all.
I began to look at Facebook as a way of connecting people together, people that may have never met before and share a collective identity. This finally led me to thinking I could gather Facebook profiles that shared the same name but have no relation at all as it feels like you have a connection with this person even though you have never met them and then categorise them all together as one collective.
