I just messaged a trainer to ask about their classes for Rhu, sold as enrichment and experience building. So I said I have a terrier cross with loud opinions covering for a lack of confidence, and could they explain the class to see if it would do what I was looking for. The response?
They're not devil dogs it's in their DNA to be into stuff and people need to understand them.
Like, yeah? I love my little terror hurricane of a dog. Doesn't mean that he wouldn't benefit from calm exposure to other dogs doing stuff around him and keeping his head. Or learning to settle while I focus on something else. Building his confidence is not trying to make him not a terrier. It's giving him the skills to be the best wee terrier he can be.
Needless to say, we'll not be joining that training class. I'm in half a mind to go back to agility and just work on our own things there. They understood him and what I was aiming for, and no one else seems to offer anything suitable.
Finally out walking both dogs again 🥳. Had a wee misunderstanding on first attempt, hence Mango being muzzled (nothing major, just excitement at Rhu bounding around), but after shot solo waljs to get the wiggles out a good 2 hour adventure.

Lovely coastal walk with work friends today. Just Rhu because too busy for Mango, she got her own walk when we got home. Which means I've done over 20km today kind of by accident 😂
