Nitinol is an alloy, which is a metal that is made by combining two or more metallic elements. In this case, the nitinol wire is composed of both nickel (Ni) and titanium (Ti) in a binary composition. This just means that there are approximately the same number of atoms of either element. In this video, the nitinol wire has been shaped to form the word “ICE” (if you just started singing “Ice, Ice Baby”, you are cool), and as you can see, the wire is deformed, yet when it is placed in a beaker of warm water, it almost instantly reforms its shape. This is because the atoms composing nitinol can arrange themselves in two different ways depending on their temperature, and these arrangements are the “austensite” and the “martensite”. When heated, the atoms of nickel and titanium form the austensite arrangement. This is a rigid structure, and allows the metal to return to its original shape. When the metal is cooled, the atoms of nickel and titanium form the martensite arrangement. The atoms are able to move around each other ever so slightly, and this allows the metal to be deformed. In this video, the nitinol is deformed as it is pulled at from either end. At this point in time, the atoms are in the martensite arrangement. When the wire is placed into the beaker of warm water, the nickel and titanium atoms rearrange themselves into the austensite position, returning to the original shape. So groovy! #nitinol #shapememory #wire #ice #nickel #titanium #atom #arrangement #austensite #martensite #temperature #metal #alloy #chemistry #science #sciences

I feel like N+C really has been doing a progressive and DMMD has been their most “accessible” title that has come from bouncing new ideas and finding what works with more mainstream audiences. I love seeing the evolution they made from TnC to DMMD.
I agree with this; they're able to keep the fans who like the dark shit and have been there since the beginning with "bad ends", while simultaneously providing the fluff in good ends. The downside to this is that it makes for a fractious fanbase--larger, yes, but divided.
With something like Sweet Pool you could be reasonably sure that you all sat through the same rape scenes that are in EVERY route and all at least tolerated it if not liked it, so your quibbles over favorite routes/characters are minor, and this remained true even after it was translated.
But with DMMd, western fandom goes off the rails compared to jpn fandom. In jpn fandom, everyone gets along, and if they disagree, they keep their mouths shut or at least remain civil. No one gets death threats for liking Mink. In western fandom there's this division of Mink fans from the whole. You can almost SEE the divided lines between fans and haters, like someone painted a line down the middle of a room. It's absurd.
So yes, it's more accessible, but the fandom is just... harder to tolerate at times.
shapememory replied to your post:What I don't understand is why people are continuing to come to Tigerine with an argument that is cyclical and can not be won. You are talking in circles and not getting anywhere. Instead of discussing your differences why not talk about your similarities. Lots of people love Clear, talk about him. I wish the dmmd/BL fandom was more united. Instead it's an argumentative mess. What happened to make love, not war? Differences are fine but similarities are better, and much more fun to talk about.
uhm… did this person just suggest everyone should avoid debate and discussion and all like exactly the same thing??? i know plenty of people who can argue about clear…
oh lord do not bring up the clear arguments
I think they're just battle-weary, friend, as am I, which is why I've turned off anon for the moment

including lgbta+ characters is completely irrelevant to the fact the guy is a war crime apologist. you can be socially aware but still a terrible, awful asshole - i see it on this website all the time as a matter of fact.
yeah! like, even ignoring all of the nasty shit in the manga, isayama himself IS a war crime apologist AND the manga is about war/military, he's disgusting. who cares if he has some 'inclusive' characters when everything else is horrific. they need to stop looking for excuses to support #snk

yeah, downtime is definitely something i don't get a lot of. honestly, i think i'm just getting tired of trying with a lot of things. hopefully, it'll past and i'll get over it
