Monster Monday Week 2
This week's character is.... Loki.
The week's monster is... Shape shifter / changeling / whatever you wanna call them.
Notes: I think you can see where this is going from just the pairing. As always reader is kept as neutral as possible. English is not my first language. And feel free to request anything you want (and leave suggestions for future pairings for this series)

I mean come on. Loki and a shape shifter? I think you already know where this is going. They're a power couple and a chaos duo.
Honestly it's like they feed off each other's energy it's actually kind of intimidating.
If ones gets bored and gets an idea it's over for everyone around them because they turn EVERYTHING into pranks.
On a more angsty / wholesome note it's very likely that reader would struggle to actually find a form that actually feels like 'them' and they often seem to mirror Loki or certain features he adds into his different forms.
It doesn't take Loki a long while to notice and he waits a bit before confronting them about it, just letting them and been secretly helping them with experimenting a bit first.
Does he find it absolutely flattering that reader is trying to copy him? Absolutely. But he also wants reader to find their own self. He knows what it's like to live as someone you're not. And he doesn't want his partner to have to suffer through that.
If shape shifting takes up a lot of energy for reader he'll always have snacks on hand, and will always be ready to form a cuddle pile for a spontaneous nap.
If reader has a preference for shape shifting as animals rather than other humans he'll gladly join them, finding some random, slightly matching but superior animal and hang out with them while being shape shifted as so.
One-shot time!
It was another quiet afternoon. Well quiet after the two had pranked practically everyone they could before finally getting caught and told off. Now they were just relaxing, both resting in bed cuddled up to eachother in a mess of limbs and exhaustion. Which is why it didn't take Loki long to finally pipe up to try and stir up whatever entertaining moment he could.
"Feeling hungry, you little rascal? I've got some pretzels in the bedside table."
He didn't get much of an answer. Just a clearly exhausted humm, almost groan, as reader sat up in bed very sluggishly.
He stretched over to the bedside table, not bothering to get up, fumbling for a bit to grab the bag before finally clutching it and almost smacking reader in the face with it as he swung it back over to the bed.
Too tired to sass him about it they just grabbed the bag, opening it and beginning to snack on the pretzels, enjoying their snack before Loki spoke up again, very clearly already getting bored out of his mind and wanting something to happen.
"Feeling better? We can try looking for something that's more..." He paused gesturing to reader up and down. "you... again so you stop copying me."
Reader just gave a grumpy frown in response. Clearly having shape shifted too much for the day for a simple snack to just fix it all in a couple minutes.
"As if... Most I can do is a small to medium sized animal..."
Loki nodded humming along, clearly not all that bothered by it though a little disappointed as he just thought for a bit.
"How about a mouse?"
The cold gaze reader had sent his way, alongside the deadpan, almost done, tone clearly told him maybe that suggestion wasn't the best idea.
"A mouse?"
He didn't back down though. Who did his lover think he is if they thought he'd just back down from a simple gaze and a defiant question?
"Yeah, you know... Small... So it would help you conserve energy. Easy to hold and care for. A little pathetic. I'd say that's very, you, my love."
Despite the clear desire to argue with him they clearly didn't have the energy to, just rolling their eyes and doing as he said, shape shifting into a little mouse among the bedsheets. Following suit, Loki decided that what better choice could he make than shape shifting into a snake. I mean, he had the whole vibe going on already? Might as well carry on with it. And so he did. Coiling around reader's little rodent form protectively but not tight enough to harm them, just letting them rest feeling enveloped by him. He seemed to think quite deeply for a bit, before finally speaking up in a rather unusually soft tone, though a little unsettling as his voice was coming from the body of a snake.
"The fur is soft... Maybe you should use that as inspiration for your human form... Some nice soft hair... Feels like it would suit you."
