FINALLY got a seat at the fancy shumai place! Tried their wonderful coffee shochu and sesame cucumbers, plus a shumai assortment. Clockwise from 12:00, we’ve got pork, shrimp, Sichuan pepper, cheesy chicken, and crab. Surprisingly, my least favorites were the crab (the fanciest and most expensive) and the Sichuan pepper (the most interesting), and it was the one I thought wouldn’t work (cheese in a shumai???) that I’d most want to get again. So savory and juicy and fluffy.
