in the future i envision Buggy getting a Pudding moment where he’ll be all insecure about his nose like usual but Shanks will compliment his nose saying he always liked it and Buggy can’t help but feel touched because no one ever compliments his nose.
one of the major character traits Buggy is introduced with is that he’s extremely sensitive about his nose, so i kinda expect that insecurity to come full circle and for Shanks (“his most hated enemy”) to be the one who appreciates him for it and helps him get over his issue.
also something i noticed this is the cover story for the chapter where that exact Pudding moment happens
there are speculations about some cover stories having connections to the contents of the chapter and it’s quite coincidental that Buggy is shown on the cover being teary-eyed and angry while in the chapter Pudding gets angry and teary-eyed after being complimented for the first time in her life over something she had a huge insecurity about…who else besides Buggy has a massive complex about a specific aspect of their face? he’s sensitive about it to the point he mishears words that sound like nose and assumes people are making fun of his big red nose.
cover pages with both Shanks and Buggy are pretty rare. the other time was the oden shop cover which was at the end of marineford when Shanks and Buggy met for the first time in twenty years…there’s some meaning in this cover i just know it.
My current Roman empire is that Shanks and Buggy were separated after Roger, their adoptive father figure, execution and met again when Ace, his son, was executed.
