Hi! Quick (and hopefully fun?) question for you. I think I've asked you something similar about Sam, but what's a crunchy aspect of Castiel you feel like fanon shouldn't sleep on, not just because it's complex, but because it makes him more fun and interesting?
Shalllll I am interested in the dynamic of when Cas proactively asks for help vs when he staunchly refuses to ask for help. We often either reduce him down to "Guy who does not ask for help" (and come up with very different reasons why in different fandom camps) but that is not strictly accurate!!! There are MANY points where Cas proactively comes to the Winchesters for help! So much so that "I need your help" actually ought to be like a lil Cas catchphrase.
There are many occasions where Cas does say to the Winchesters "I need your help" and they help him. Then there are other occasions where Cas does not ask for help in which case there are two outcomes: 1) pretends nothing is wrong and he doesn't need anything and then it all explodes in his face because actually help would have been a good idea 2) He is like "Oh my god go away it would take longer if you came with me I don't even want to take the time to explain what I'm about to do just get out of my wayyyy" and on some of those occasions he actually has his shit on lock genuinely.
WHEN does he choose one over the other though? What's the psychology behind it? What's Cas feel okay about asking help with versus not? When is it "I'm not asking for help because you would inconvenience me" and when is it "I'm not asking for help because I don't want you involved for Reasons™️"? Why does he sometimes assess the scope of something as too large and ask for help, while other times, he woefully misjudges what he's capable of handling all on his own? Sometimes he asks for help with emotional matters, like wanting Dean to help him with Claire, but it's not always emotional matters either!
it's happening again.
IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING AGAIN

A Deanism just for you: One day, Dean says, "Wife me up Scotty!" instead of "Beam me up, Scotty!" And he doesn't correct himself but just laughs a little laugh like "Oops."
