So just got back from seeing Iron Lung. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I love a bit of eldritch horror that leaves you with questions after the credits roll, and it definitely had it in spades. I did worry going in I'd struggle to settle into the story and forget I'm watching Markiplier as Simon, but honestly it wasn't even an issue - he gave a pretty solid performance, especially considering 90% of the film is focused entirely on him inside a tiny metal box. The set was also A+, they really leaned into the inherent claustrophobia and tension of being stuck in there with Simon.
My primary and honestly only real quibble haa to be the sound. There are a few moments where the sound levelling leaves voices drowned out by music or sound effects. In some instances it works, but in others it feels a bit obstructive for following the story. There are also some other vocal effects used towards the latter end of the story (no spoilers!) that I already know I'm going to need to watch with subtitles later.
So yeah, generally an enjoyable horror flick and honestly impressive for the fact it was Mark's directorial debut. Fun creepy storytelling, monstrous beasties, body horror and a lot of blood. Like, a lot.

How audacious is it to apply for an internal vacancy after being in a role 6 months? It's a level up from where I currently am, but it's a more systems-based role, which I do like.
