quiet after all these years

but it’s not lost, just resting,

waiting for the one spark

that reminds my heart how to speak again.

In silent thought, you speak to me,

No words, just waves - telepathy.

A glance, a smile, a breath we share,

You’re always with me, always there.

Through storm and calm, through dark and light,

You’ve been my home, my truest sight.

I thank you for each sacred day,

For walking with me all the way.

And when this life draws to its close,

I’ll find you where the still wind blows.

No end can break what we have grown-

Those curves I’ll chase but never save

The morning comes, our names erased

Two souls collide, then drift away

For nobody to see

For nobody to feel

When I live there outside I am still

You have to do it for yourself

You have to want it for yourself

It ain‘t working if you want to do it for your kids, your marriage or other people
