Blix moved at a leisurely pace. It was a strange feeling, being a vigilante. She, like her current partner, was far more used to committing crimes than fighting them. The night was calm, and pleasantly warm, which helped given that they were stalking around wearing 30lbs of armor and gear.
Upon hearing him call out for her, she started to respond before bracing herself as he latched himself onto her back. “Ye- Oof!”
She sighed loudly. How did I get stuck with this CHILD as my best friend? She adjusted his legs for a moment, before carrying on, albeit at much slower pace. “You really need to start giving me better warnings that you want a piggyback. One day I’m not gonna catch you and we are both going to crash down to the cement. So are we looking for anyone/anything in particular or are we just meant to patrol until sun comes up?” Blix asked as they made their way through an alley.
Lurching forward as he nearly bowled over Blix, Billy felt his stomach drop for a moment. Luckily for them both, she caught her balance and didn’t throw him off of her.
“If I give you a heads up it’s not nearly as fun,” he chimed, jumping down off of her back, nearly tripping but managing to get his feet under himself. Walking down the alley, he glanced around, skirting around a rat making its way to the nearby dumpster. “Patrol until sunrise. Better this than minding communications in the bunker.”
Still, Billy hoped the night stayed quiet.
