Vince eyed the woman warily though his posture was relaxed, leaned back against the brick wall of the Dvali theater. She’d been here, in Dvali territory, more than once. She wasn’t a mobster though and certainly not an undercover agent like himself. She was something else entirely. Something along the lines of the Batman, or perhaps more like the Joker, or Scarecrow, or any of the rest of the absurd masked men and women who lived in this city. She was the kind of person who could only exist in a place like Gotham.
Expression blank, he shrugged one shoulder. “Its just a warning. Make of it what you will.”
A small stray cat wandered over and sat at Vince’s feet, meowing insistently, as though it was demanding food it knew the man had. When he ignored it, it climbed up his leg and side with sharp claws until it could perch on his shoulder, now meowing in his ears. Shaking off his leg, he shot the cat a glare.
