Having trouble figuring out which generators are fake? Have no fear! I've taken the risk of completing fake generators so you, dear player, don't have to find out after you already have Hallucination III
Let's start with the semi-obvious first, this is all very subject to change as the Noli update literally JUST came out just barely 24 hours ago, but! It's something to base your suspicions off of!
First: The money + EXP you gain from completing generators. If you don't have VIP: Look out for gaining 5$ and 15 EXP If you do have VIP: Look out for gaining 5$ and 18.75 EXP IF YOU FOUND A FAKE GENERATOR: You will start gaining any amount of EXP outside of strictly 15 or 18.75. I've gotten up to 25 EXP from fake generators. None of this EXP is real, and will not transfer to your progress. Max amount of EXP i've seen from fake gens: 25 Min amount of EXP i've seen from fake gens: 10 BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE CURRENCY YOU'RE RECEIVING AS WELL! If you've got yourself a good generator, it will ALWAYS be in dollars! ($) Fake generators can give you pounds, cents, or any other currency that isn't the game's default. Fake generators will also show "$5" instead of "5$"
An example of a real puzzle completed (with VIP)
Now you might've read this far and are now like, "But Shadow, how can we tell fake generators from real ones without collecting any Hallucination stacks?"
- Skipped numbers in the puzzles
fake: (3 is missing)
real:
- Already completed all the generators, yet there's this unfinished one here... - It's possible for there to be glitchy visual effects or audio cues when standing next to a fake generator - The completion bar for generators should appear a slightly yellower green, if you're watching others do the generator
fake:
real:
"But how can I tell if I have Hallucination stacks?"
1) Be on the lookout for who your teammates are. Have an Elliot or Dusekkar? Great! Be on STRONG lookout for fake support. You'll get Dusekkar shields from the sky, Elliot pizzas will drop out of nowhere, Builderman dispensers can appear even if Builderman's halfway across the map. You can still eat fake pizzas, but it won't exactly give you the health. Fake dispensers won't heal you nearly as fast, if at all. Fake shields don't give you the effects a normal shield would.
These effects are possible for Hallucination II (2) and up Fake dispensers, shields, and pizza will disappear as soon as you're attacked by the real Noli
2) Timer actin funky....... Going from 3 minutes to 5 seconds to 1 minute left
This usually lasts until your stacks go away or until Noli attacks you
3) A big cause of all of our stamina drainage, especially since Noli hasn't been super balanced yet. Fake Noli's. Having trouble figuring out if you're hallucinating a Noli or not?
AGGRESSIVELY targets you. Doesn't pay attention to other players (even if they have less health). Even running away doesn't stop them, and they somehow outrun your sprint
Never uses any of their other abilities (Void rush and Nova)
It seems like no one else can see who's chasing you, and all the sentinels and supports just go about their business
You've got yourself a fake Noli!
These guys can appear with Hallucination III (3), the max stack you can get. Just don't look at any bot-like moving Noli and you should be good. If they come charging at you, don't panic. See if you have any other signs of hallucination (timer acting weird, fake support items, maybe you saw Noli just a few seconds before running the complete opposite direction)
The fakes can follow your own pathing more accurately than any person possibly could (going left with you, going right with you, turning around at the exact moment you do), so that's also something to keep in mind. Humans do not have that type of accuracy.
Because of this, fakes will never try to attack you from the front. They only start attacking once they're on your back Only start running if they start moving like an actual person or if you're actually in danger. Wasting your sprint and abilities on the fakes isn't gonna be good for future chases, especially if real Noli was expecting you to run out of sprint!
Please keep in mind all of this, I grabbed from my own playthroughs so it's very very likely that they'll change in the future, but I figured I'd help a little where I could!!
