Hmm...it was getting dark outside. Had he really been wandering around for so long? He decided to head back to the office, fairly certain that nobody would be there at this time. At least nobody would bother him. When he finally arrived, he slipped inside and switched the light on, closing the door. He yawned and ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it as he glanced around to see if everything was closed. He rubbed his eyes, slowly marching toward the desk. Ugh, he felt so tired.
He paused when he heard the light over his head sizzle. Did the flickering mean it was about to go out? Maybe there was some shitty ghost-type lurking in the room trying to scare him. He sighed when the light finally died and left him in the dark. Great.
...Having made it a point to always have a light of some sort while he was sleeping, the fact that he was standing in darkness- and the opening that it left- suddenly hit him.
He yelped when the pin dropped to the ground, body knocking into the desk and toppling over onto the floor. He wasn't in control anymore. He was anchored to the pin, body visibly attempting to kick it away- but there was still no light and the darkness was his domain. His counterpart shrieked and writhed on the floor as he struggled to keep control.
As long as there was no light, he could continue trying to claim the body as his again.

theagentlooker replied to your post “Ah, hello there! How are you feeling today? Ah, I know that you said...”
Still no answer from the other, apparently. He opted to watch in silence for a moment as the other danced with himself, and only spoke again when the song had finished. "Would you, perhaps, like to dance with me instead?"
The offer made him pause, missing his cue when the next track on the CD started. Dance with William? That sounded interesting.
His lips split into a grin, bringing his hands up to his mouth as if he'd been tempted to muffle his dark giggle.
"CAN you dance with s̢͠ ̸̡h̸͡ ͏͝a̷̴̡ ̷̢͘ḑ̸͞ ́̕ǫ͟ ̛w̴̕ ҉̢ş ?" he asked, swaying as the music slowly picked up his movements again. A quick, light tap to the chest where his pin was concealed, and he spun around again, coat floating behind and arms whirling to the rhythm. But instead of gliding along the wall beside him, his shadow spun in the opposite direction, moving away from the body, breaking all physics and ignoring the source of light.
The shadow was no longer following his gestures. It was mirroring them.
"Ah, hello there! How are you feeling today? Ah, I know that you said that there was no reason to speak of it, but- I simply wanted to drop by and check up on you, yes!"
He ignored William. It was nice to come and check on him. Or check on what he probably thought was his counterpart. Still, he didn't say a word, music disrupting the silence instead. He messed with the lighting being projected onto the wall until he was satisfied of the positioning. The music slowly died. And so, he went and stood in the light, waiting for the next song to play, waiting to let his body move with the tempo and his shadow dancing along with him in the background.
