Normally Kay loves watching the sun set; she’s nocturnal, after all. But the last few nights have brought monsters with them, and she’s running out of places to hide.

“Hey, um, are you any good at fighting?”

She approaches the only person nearby; someone keeping to the shadows, like her! The idea of being alone right now doesn’t appeal to her in the slightest... it’s not the bravest option, but maybe this kid will let her tag along with him for a while.

She’s not quite prowling, but it might seem that way to anyone witnessing her for the first time. Really, she’s more comfortable in low light, where it’s difficult to see and be seen. Well, seeing for those who aren’t quite in the same way she is, without eyes that see for miles and ears that perceive every little bit of the world. So, at this time, she’s no more than a set of eyes that flash every so often when a light catches them. 

When it happens again, and she spots someone who looks like they might be hiding as well, she waves from her spot in the branch of a tree, head leaned forward to keep her antlers safe. 

‘Is there any reason we had to run though? I mean, it was pretty fun and all but I think we could’ve fought them off. Especially since you have that sword.’
