It had been all of one week. If he was being entirely honest, Alucard wasn’t really sure how he’d ended up on this team. He usually tried to stay away from organizations like this, usually let the humans fight their own wars and figure things out for themselves. There was something about this particular group, though, that drew him in, and he’d found himself in the Overwatch headquarters. He’d let himself in, of course; There weren’t many ways to get into a high security facility if you didn’t just let yourself in. Almost as soon as he appeared in the facility, he had guns trained on him. He had to say he was impressed by how prepared they were. He had simply raised his hands in surrender and let himself be led away.

One interrogation later, rather than be kicked out or killed, as he had expected, he was instead offered a position on a team called Blackwatch. At the time, he wasn’t sure what the difference between Overwatch and Blackwatch was, but he figured if Blackwatch was working with Overwatch, they couldn’t be that bad. He had agreed, and two days later met the men who were to be his teammates. A man with a serious cowboy fetish and a man who looked and smelled more metal and circuits than flesh. Nobody seemed to care that he wasn’t human. If they did, they didn’t show it.

He spent the rest of the week in the training facility, practicing with his new teammates and showing his fighting skills. The boss, a man named Reyes, seemed impressed, and a week after joining, he was sent on his first mission. It was a simple recon, and he was accompanied by McCree, who was meant to keep an eye on him. He observed the cowboy sitting across from him on the copter with curiosity. He didn’t know much about his teammate, but now wasn’t the time to ask questions. He hadn’t had much time for anything but training in the last week. And of course the time that he did have free, everyone else was asleep.
