hello gang! i'm partway back from the Revision demoparty in Germany! it was truly sublime. I made my Shader Showdown debut, stayed up all saturday night working on my prod for the PC demo compo, and entered it into what turned out to be one of the best compos I've ever seen. (I got 12th place of 27 but honestly given the competition that is entirely fine.)
I will have a writeup (not nearly as insanely detailed as last year's, mind you!) quite soon, but for now, here's the compo; my prod 'shaderland :: swizzle's journey' is at #19 (timecode link):
you can also download and run it (windows/linux) here; and the pouet thread is here! genuinely such an emotional ride to go through finishing this at the party and releasing it, and it seems to have gone down pretty well! at least i got a lot of really lovely comments from people at the party. if you're interested in the game this spun out of, pop a wishlist on steam and you'll hopefully hear about the demo
the pc demo compos this year were absolutely amazing, at all size categories, 4k through to the full demo compo. 64k is so back! but the one that truly blew absolutely everyone's mind was razor 1911's eponymous demo at the end of the above video. i'll have more to say about that in the writeup, but it was truly sublime to watch in the hall. like. the feeling, the artistic ambition: this prod really captures what the demoscene means.
