she takes his hand in hers and, suddenly, the wandering pace of his thoughts jumps and focuses on the oddity that is such gesture—foreign as he immediately realized.
moments ago, already caught in the darkness of those late hours, shinso was walking back to the dormitories with several of the 1-a kids, half-listening to what they said while he pondered over the day they’ve had ( the memories of it all, a few notes of what he owed for his classes and what he should get from the store—next time he got a chance to go out ) he hardly really noticed the small alarms amidst the crowd, everyone shushing and moving quick and quiet until a hand ( her hand ) dragged him out of his mind and launched his heart onto a reckless run. his eyes turned to the union and fixed on them as she guided him behind a wall and motioned him to stay as close to the shadows as he could.
had he—looked up the moment after, he would have noticed the two teachers with flashlights patrolling the grounds, apparently stopping because of a noise they just heard behind. yet—it took him a few more seconds ( a little effort to part from the small structure of her hand and the slight warmth taking over his cheeks ) to actually lean forward and asses the risk of being found out. they should stay low for another while, vlad king didn't look too convinced as to resume the patrol, for now.
❝ didn't realize we were pass curfew already. what time... is it, anyway? ❞ his hand ready to part from hers if she allowed, yet not entirely sure if he should or should not right now.
