Overlord (オーバーロード Ōbārōdo) is a Japanese light novel series written by #KuganeMaruyama and illustrated by so-bin. It began serialization online in 2010, before being acquired by #Enterbrain. An #anime television series adaptation ran from July 7, 2015 to September 29, 2015. A second season premiered on January 9, 2018. In the first season, the 13-episode Overlord television anime series premiered in #Japan in July 2015. The story takes place in the year 2138 when #virtualreality #gaming is booming. #Yggdrasil, a popular online game, is quietly shut down one day. However, the protagonist #Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the #newworld the game has become. In the new season, the story continues, Momonga as #AinzOoalGown slowly becomes more of a "celebrity" in the new world. Another "sucked into virtual reality game" anime plot, makes you wonder when will our real life gets taken over by virtual reality.
