i keep thinking about the implications of like. the obvious parallels between nia and kara keeping their powers a secret from their families... the way that nia's transness and kara's powers are placed in a similar narrative role where kara used to be accepted by alex and nia used to be accepted by maeve but now neither of them has that anymore (although admittedly "magic mindwipe" and "sister decided to be transphobic" are rather different)... the way nia's and kara's roadtrip confessions mirror each other structurally... the way that a crucial part of how kara gets through to altered-reality alex in the elseworlds episode is by knowing and being sympathetic to her about her being closeted. dunno what to say but i'm gnawing on it in my mind
