Operation Support Fanartists (SFA) : FAQs
1. What is operation SFA?
Operation Support Fanartists, tagged as #operation sfa, is an attempt to help fanartists gain traction on bigger platforms. It’s not easy to build a following, and sometimes it can dishearten artists. SFA aims to prevent that by allowing artists to share their work here.
2. What do you mean by ‘art’? Does my work constitute as ‘art’?
Art is literally anything you have created. This can be pictorial: like a sketch, drawing, painting or digital art (however, we prefer if there is an image description to go with it. head over to @atladescribed for help regarding the same.) It can be verbal: such as a fanfiction, poem, or headcanon you’ve written. It can be memes, graphic edits, videos, even a Spotify playlist.
3. How do I participate in operation SFA?
Post your art on a blog, preferably your art blog (so people can see other pieces of yours as well!). Send the link to the post by message to this blog, not via ask. Once it has been added to the queue, you’ll be informed.
4. Are there any restrictions on the content of my art?
Yes. If it is NSFW, it will not be reblogged unless under exceptional circumstances i.e. if it is not very explicit, but it will be reblogged with the tag #invalid for minors, which is a filter that people aged below 18 are encouraged to use. Moreover, any art that propogates racism, homophobia, sexism, islamophobia, transphobia, or pedophilia will not be reblogged.
5. I’ve sent my art and received a reply, but I don’t see it reblogged. What do I do?
Please wait two days, most posts on this blog are queued days in advance. It is very likely that it simply hasn’t been posted yet. If it has been more than two days, look through the tag #operation sfa to check if you have missed it. If you still don’t see your art reblogged, dm us using the same blog and not via ask.
6. I’ve contacted you, but I haven’t received any reply or acknowledgement. What do I do?
Again, do not contact via ask, direct message. If you have messaged, please wait for at least two days. This blog often gets a lot of messages, and it takes time to go through all of them. You can always send a second message, no shame in double texting!
7. Can I send in art that is not related to the A:TLA fandom?
No. Unfortunately, this blog is solely made for the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom, and by extension, The Legend of Korra. However, I will reblog your non-A:TLA art on my main blog if I like it.
8. Can I submit my art into your inbox?
Yes, but it isn’t recommended. Though Tumblr shows who has sent the submission, it takes away credit because the notes reflect this blog. If you are okay with this, then feel free to use the submit button.
