Please enjoy this painting of JP, made originally and improperly for the SF6 New Challengers Contest. I took patterns and design hints from northern European Golden Agers like Kay Nielsen and Polobian folk art, in honor of his move names like Triglav, Torbalan, and Chornobog.
I dont know anything about street fighter but i really like the bits of JP lore you shared on here (and your art ofc!!!) He's like my exact type of fav character (charismatic freaks who don't understand emotions and lie to everyone LOL) and the fact hes a hot old man intrigues me very much...

Well first off, YESSSSSSS lmao , I'm thrilled you're curious about JP and the game!! I'll do my best to give you an overview, but also sorry the tags might have more relevant info than the post itself lMAO;;;;;;
Street Figher is a 2d fighting game, so the main appeal of it is as a competitive fighter, but, it also has a full single player story mode called 'World Tour' and individual character stories through 'Arcade Mode' as well!
You can definitely find videos on Youtube of cutscenes and gameplay both to see if it's something you want to buy or wait for a sale on. (searching "SF6 [character name] [ranked/ world tour / arcade mode]" should do it) For example, JP's scenes specifically from World Tour's story, are all right here, albeit it might lack some context to what's going on (so spoiler warning): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJOc2MHYHsU
If you wanted more advice on how to get into fighting games in general, then I'd say you're already well on the right track?!?! I personally got into the genre cause i loved the characters and story so much, I decided to buckle down and study as many guides and tutorials i could to learn;;; Literally, I also had like, seen a gif of JP's win animation and thought "that's kinda hot, who is this guy, ok let me get SF6"
