SilkenFest 2018 update
It has been with much deliberation, debate, and thoughtfulness that the ECSW has decided to support the relocating of our national specialty to Purina Farms for 2018. As planning moves forward I ask that anyone with the skills, time, and inclination to assist please let it be known - volunteers are absolutely crucial to a successful event. Β This would also be a great opportunity for people to get involved and learn what it takes to run an event of this scale! I'd like to offer my sincere gratitude to Don and Hutsie for their willingness to make Siendo Farmstead available to us. Β They have shouldered a great burden in helping the Silken Windhound community hold many very successful regional and national specialties in the past and continue to truly be an amazing asset to the breed. Β Their kindness and support of new owners and long time breeders alike have provided a cornerstone that has allowed the breed to thrive over the years. Β ECSW remains committed to the longstanding relationship we have with them and we hope to discuss future plans at a later date. In the coming days there will be an introduction to our incoming National Specialty Chairperson with more details on how we all can help make 2018 an absolutely fantastic event for the breed. Β I think it's important that we recognize the significance of Purina Farms and the attention it may garner for our breed from those outside of our breed and as such we have an obligation to show what our breed and its fanciers are capable of! Best regards, Steven Beckerman ECSW President
