White Police Lieutenant Wins Seven-Figure Reverse Discrimination Suit

A reverse discrimination lawsuit brought by white police lieutenant Christopher Barrella has been decided, resulting in a federal jury deciding on to award him with $ 1.35 million.

This judgment comes following he was reportedly passed over as Chief for a Hispanic officer with less expertise and decrease test scores.

According to CBS New York, the Long Island officer brought the lawsuit against the village of Freeport when the town’s very first black mayor, Andrew Hardwick, was in office.

The jury agreed. “It’s really a very good feeling to be validated,” Barrella mentioned, “and I am extremely appreciative that the jury saw it my way.”

Barrella’s lawyer, Amanda Fugazy, known as the judgment a “wakeup get in touch with.”

This has definitely been a very good year for anti-affirmative action folks. Not only are juries starting to see the reverse discrimination argument, courts are as properly. In April, the US Supreme Court upheld Michigan’s affirmative action ban.
