Setrakus Ra predictions
So I have a couple of predictions about this Setrakus Ra, if you care to listen and give feedback, I would be very pleased.
My first thought, Setrakus Ra is a Loric. This thought was confirmed (sort of) when Number Four was in Chicago at the end of The Fall of Five and he was pondering the fate of Ella after she was kidnapped. It is said that he was considering the possibility of the Mog leader being Loric. So for all intents and purposes, lets assume that this is true.
Now with this information, I have come to three possible conclusions. The first is that Setrakus Ra is Pittacus Lore. This was more of just a passing thought and most likely untrue. The reason behind this prediction is (1) Setrakus Ra's incredible strength which could be because he is, as I have said, Lorien's most powerful ruling Elder. (2) This is why one of the Garde must also have the same powers of Pittacus Lore (which powers he has, we don't know) Since he is (hypothetically) Pittacus Lore, the most powerful Lorien, it would make sense that only the one is equally strong as he is would be able to kill him. (3) the scars. In The Rise of Nine, when Six was battling with Setrakus Ra she saw scars of his ankle identical to hers, but this fact was never mentioned again in the books. For this prediction, I'm thinking that maybe the charm that was cast on the children when they left Lorien, also affects the Elders, being the ones who cast it in the first place. This could make sense because it will also let the Elders know how many Garde are left. This prediction, however, seems the most unlikely of the three since these books are supposedly written by Pittacus Lore who, apparently, "is Lorien's ruling Elder. He has been on Earth preparing for the war that will decide Earth's fate. His whereabouts are unknown," to quote from the book. He also took the trouble to change places and names to protect the remaining Loric who are still in hiding. Unless he changed it so that he wouldn't take responsibility for the real events? Like I said, this prediction seems unlikely.
My second prediction actually came to me while I was writing this. Is it possible that Setrakus Ra is the real tenth Garde, seeing as Ella turned out to not be part of the original group who were selected to be saved. Here's my reasoning. (1) again, the scars. I'm not sure how he would have still been under the spell if he apparently never made it to the air field, but who knows. Since he was part of this group though, it would explain why he has the same scars. (2) Greed/ Revenge. The only reasons I can think of about why he would betray his people is because he wanted to prosper and be worshiped. Also, maybe he was angry because the other Garde left him on Lorien to die and he wanted revenge? Was he possibly captured by Mogs and brainwashed like Five? And then maybe he just worked his way up in order to become the leader? (3) the Power. It is said that the ten Garde were selected to live because they were the most powerful of their generation. This would explain the power that Setrakus Ra wields. I feel like this one might even be more unlikely since it is said that Setrakus Ra was in command for the invasion of Lorien so that pretty much makes my whole theory crumble, unless it is possible that Setrakus Ra is just a title that is passes on or something. Also, how would this new Number Ten have made it to Earth?
My final theory -- and most likely, it seems -- is that Setrakus Ra is Ella's rich father, Raylan,  who sent her to Earth in his personal shuttle. I'm pretty positive about this one, for these reasons. (1) Resources. Ella's father had many resources, seeing and he part of one of the oldest and proudest (and no doubt richest) families on Lorien so it is possible that he either, a. survived long enough to be taken as hostage by the Mogadorians or, b. was able to escape on another shuttle that he possibly hid. (2) He was a recluse and thought that he and his family had been cheated by the Elders when they decreased the number of Elders from 10 to 9, excluding Raylan's family from being able to be part of this ruler ship, even though his grandfather had been and Elder. This leads into how he could have survived without being taken hostage or by flying away. Is it possible that he was planning with the Mogs for an attack? He was angry with the elders so maybe he meant to start a civil war of sorts so that his family could get was he thought was owed to them. But it seems likely that if this is the case, that he was lied to and didn't know that they meant to destroy the whole planet. It would make sense that, if he was scheming with the Mogs, he would not have known their whole plan because in Crayton's letter to Ella, he says that her father had stayed on Lorien to help fight off the Mogs. If he was working with the Mogs, it could also explain how the pillar of light that was draining the shields was brought into being with out a Mogadorian having to come down and do it themselves. (3) Raylan was obsessed with the Secret Wars between the Mogs and Loriens that was hidden by their government. This suggests that Raylan was something of an outcast (as earlier mentioned, he was something of a recluse) who knew about the Mogadorians. It may be possible that he even had access to Mogadorian books and principals (since, as I said, he is very resourceful) and even made contact? (4) Ella is supposed to be Setrakus Ra's Heir. In The Fall of Five, chapter thirty-five, page 338, paragraph three through six, Setrakus Ra refers to Ella as his Heir and even allows her to execute judgment to the fate of Sam and Six. This is of course all in a vision that Four and Ella are entrapped in, but as we know, visions are pretty much always warnings about what will happen in the future, or have some significant meaning. The fact that Setrakus Ra has kidnapped Ella to be his Heir highly suggests the possibility that she is his child and would also match up with the description of Raylan who thought that his family should have been part of the ruling Elders. On another note, in this vision, Four notices that Ella seems to be almost in a drug like state which may suggest that she had a. been brainwashed b. actually been drugged c. succumbed to Mogadorian mind control. This theory, however, does not account for the scars that Setrakus Ra bears.
In each of these cases, I'm not quite sure how Setrakus Ra came to look the way he does. There are a lot of cracks in each of these theories so let me know what you guys think and any other ideas you have.
