Old Friend
Mathias sat in his office, looking over every document he had brought with him to the castle. No matter how hard he stared, the answers he wanted wouldnât show up on the page. It was frustrating, and he really wished reality would just turn in his favor for once. Who would have thought all this power would still bring him down. There was no way that either side could win this, even if Mathias wished it so. One side wanted revenge, and he was sure the other would feel the same way if they were ever freed. He really wished he never left Germany.Â
There was a knock on his door, and Mathias mumbled a quiet, âCome inâ. When he picked up his head and saw Seth there, he sighed. The other witch was always a welcomed sight, and Mathias really didnât think heâd come back to the castle if Seth wasnât there either. Seth looked a little older, and with ink on his skin now. The necromancerâs memories flashed back to a time where he felt they were too young. He hadnât been covered in scars, and his hair hadnât been peppered with white. What a strange life they lived.Â
He gestured for Seth to sit, and poured him a glass of booze, âI thought this would be a good hiding place. I didnât want to talk to the other councilmen. I donât think they like me muchâ.Â
