As we ring in the New Year, a story about the UCSF clock tower:

The above building was the College of Medicine, the first building erected on the UCSF Parnassus campus in 1897. The clock was created by prominent maker Seth Thomas. When the College of Medicine building was torn down in 1967, a group of UCSF boosters saved the clock’s workings. In 1982, the clock was reinstalled at Millberry Union where it lives today.
