something white hot sprints down the back of his spine and he swears he can feel his shoulders cramping from how taught he holds them. panic sets , pulsing low in his chest , can feel the quick thumpthumpthump of his heart beat right between his ribs. and kuroo wants to fucking bolt. 

run into the bathroom and lock himself in until akaashi leaves. only he wouldn’t , and that’s what keeps him set in place. he’d rather the embarrassment lick greedily at his cheeks than endure how absolutely pathetic he’d feel cowering in the tub. and it’s , god , it’s fucking ridiculous the thoughts that are filling his head. the rejections that are waiting for him. 

it’s unfamiliar territory. crossing over the line of like into love. they haven’t talked about it , no , but kuroo wants to believe it was always there. in the way akaashi would run his fingers through his hair when he’s too exhausted or having a shit day ; gentle and soothing against tangled roots. in the way akaashi will reserve his smiles for him and only him ; making his heart soar straight out of his chest and right into akaashi’s hands. the fact kuroo is so willing to let him wield something so delicate , so easily damaged , fucking terrifies him.

to give over that trust so easily , effortlessly. to hand over his very soul to the one he loves . . . and kuroo can only pray to whatever higher power out there that akaashi was willing to accept such a selfish request. 

he exhales , stuttering out a breath and laughs. hands shaking as they rub over the curve of his cheeks , palms digging out the sting behind his lids because shit yeah. he loves him. he loves him.

                  It’s not a great position for his knees, in anyway shape or form but Hinata does land on his feet. Sort of. It’s nothing like the spills he used to take when he first started but he definitely rolls his ankle in a way that can only be described as dangerous. Still he hops back up.

spreading positivity! || accepting

an arm hangs lazily over the arm rest , the other resting comfortably around the setter’s waist. every once in a while his hand will move , rubbing a palm over his lower back , pausing to rub circles into bare skin whenever his shirt would rise up. he isn’t that much smaller than him. only a few inches shorter , but he’s got enough muscle that he’s a comfortable weight on top of him like this. like one of those heavy set blankets that he’s seen advertised for people who want to feel like their being hugged in their sleep. only this is a hundred times better , and despite akaashi’s anemia , he’s still warm enough to make him feel sleepy ; his lids fluttering closed every so often , only to hear a noncommittal comment from the other to sober him back up. grinning because he keeps pointing out how dumb each of the contestants answers actually are. 

he’s hoping it’s being exaggerated for ratings , but judging by how embarrassed they look he doesn’t quite think so. the poor fools.

he feels hands move to his sides , cool even through his shirt , and lets out a content sigh. though as quick as it’s released , he’s sucking it back in when those same hands begin to squeeze and prod into hard muscle and kuroo is all but flailing into the cushions. cursing under his breath as he attempts to push them off. but the hands are stubborn , fingers moving to attack the places kuroo’s can’t keep protected. and it keeps on like that , a game back and forth that has him squirming and pleading through breathless laughs.

finally , finally , akaashi stops. he’s smiling , wide and proud and looking far too smug with himself that kuroo is swept with a wind of determination to get rid of it. he waits until he’s got his breath back. waits until the feeling returns back into his limbs and he can take the advantage. which he does , rolling them to the floor with as much finesse he can manage and slotting his mouth easily over akaashi’s.

it’s okay Aries I’ll still stan you till the end of time
