Savannah in general, suffers from many wicked problems each and everyday. These issues are growing and need to be addressed one way or another. Step Up Savannah addresses the concern involving the extremity of poverty in Savannah. More than a quarter of Savannah's residents live in poverty. Step Up Savannah is a non-profit organization that leads by the words; "Poverty matters in Savannah. Act now to end poverty." The organization tackles the issues through workforce development, building wealth, advocacy and education, and supporting organizations. They depend on a network of partners, aiming towards solutions to last, which will help out low-income families. The societal challenges on hand are wicked and although poverty is pretty specific, the issue involves other problems such as homelessness, hunger, and health care. Challenges are faced everyday and we need organizations like Step Up Savannah to enforce the commitment to lasting solutions.

Social innovation is the process of the socially recognizable end goal. The realization, of these societal challenges that are faced throughout the world, is present now more than ever. As people living on this earth, we need to work together to work towards solutions. Social innovation involves working with what is already available, and the combination of resources, knowledge, and creativity. Social innovation stems from wicked problems, which incorporate many different parts and intertwine within each other. Exploring these issues within this research assignment broadened my outlook on the topics on hand.
