literature - he loves to read, crime is among his favorites, though he prefers books written outside of northern america. 

tv - he doesn’t really watch a lot, aside from when his niece puts it on. but he does love narcos. it’s something him and his father have even bonded over, which is both charming and a bit bizarre.

languages - korean is his mother language, though he picked up english quite quickly and in school, he took latin after making a big deal out of it not being offered. he’s now working on spanish, which is still a bit rusty. 

moving - eugene’s parents fell in love young and for a solid year and a half, it was a perfect marriage, almost too perfect. but then, things eventually got rocky. regardless, they never did think it’d get to the point of them divorcing. though, it was something that ended up being the right move and healthier for them in the long run, even if looked down upon by those around them. but it didn’t start to happen until the age of eight, when oh il-nam started working his way up in his line of work, eventually gaining him a promotion that later down the line led to him being offered a job that required a heavy amount of traveling. at first, the two felt or forced the spark to return once he did, but eventually, they realized, they much preferred the distance. his father was eventually offered a full-time job with a full scholarship to one of canada’s top private schools for eugene, this is where the divorce starts. his mother, mi-nyeo had no intentions of moving, and still lives in South Korea, though Eugene makes sure to visit quite often, bringing along his niece whom his mother adores. She used to visit as well, but now with her getting older, it’s much easier for him to make the trips. 

rebellious stage - like most teens, eugene went through a phase of self discovery and rebellion, most of it gaining a disapproval from their parents, mostly from a lack of understanding / being unable to connect with the same interests. it did help zhe figure themselves out, though. 

re-married - his father did eventually remarry and whilst at first, it raised tensions, eventually, both eugene and his mother came to accept this, and eugene never held that against gen.

Wesley didn’t have the best life growing up. He didn’t learn how to positively cope with his emotions which means he often keeps things bottled up or he gets super angry and lets it all out in an emotional mess. He wants to try to work towards learning to better handle those emotions but it’s a difficult path for him. 

He has always looked up to Caro. She took care of him growing up and is the reason he keeps going despite what the world throws at him. He was absolutely devastated when she left and didn’t come back until recently. He’d lost the one person he had to look after him and make sure he was okay. 

Commitment really scares Wes. He doesn’t understand how people can decide that they want to stay with one person forever. Relationships also confuse him because he doesn’t understand what love is. He thought he was in love once but now that he thinks back on it he isn’t exactly sure it counts. 

Wesley learned to cook when he was working in a diner for extra money. He wanted to learn so that him and Caro didn’t have to eat out all of the time. He’s actually really good at it but he doesn’t show off those skills often because he’s embarrassed by it.
