This month is the only month where the Guard are allowed to wear little pins to showcase Coruscant's "love" of inclusivity and diversity. We're actively encouraged to embrace the rainbow. Dogma, frowning: ...Why does this sound like some kind of disingenuous corporate PR plot to make the Senate look good? Olly, sighing: Because it is... Rhythm, rummaging through his trunk: On the bright side, we get to have colorful and pretty pins! Plus, because it's Pride Month, everyone currently on-planet is on their best behavior around us because they don't want to seem like bigoted assholes by attacking the Guard. Thorn, handing Dogma a pin: Here you go kid. Custom made just for you! Dogma, staring at the demisexual homoromantic pin he's just been handed: How did you...? I haven't really told anyone about this... Olly, wearing an asexual homoromantic pin: Thorn has his sources. It's a little scary, honestly... Slick, wearing a bisexual pin: And extremely invasive, if you ask me... Hound, wearing a 'still figuring it out but definitely not straight' pin: He's always just been good at figuring it out. In fact, he's sent pins to every single commander and literally made them realize some stuff about themselves they hadn't even considered. Fox, peeking his head into the barracks: Bastard lost me a ton of credits by clocking Cody in as Aroace before anyone else did. Thorn, snorting: You really shouldn't have bet on his tolerance of Kenobi as being attraction. Fox: Can you blame me? They both have the biggest slut energy...

Like in general I think Slick's words have been purposely misconstrued or disregarded due to his actions, and fandom fully believed that because the actions attached to his words were wrong (which they were), that the clones must have believed he was lying about the Jedi, or must have disagreed with them.
Only for Rex to say, "well maybe his intentions were good." Without jumping to defend the Jedi. And don't get me wrong, I don't think the Jedi are 100% to blame for what the clones have gone through.
But I think it's nice to see that Slicks' intentions weren't entirely damned by Rex of all people, and that he acknowledged that there needed to be a change in relation to the Jedi dynamic.
I think the clones are allowed to have complicated feelings about the Jedi leading them into battle, and I think it's realistic that even though the Jedi were put in a very unfair space, the clones would have mixed feelings about them.
Even Rex. And it's nice to get some confirmation about that.

𝑴𝒚 𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏 #5: 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑺𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 "𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒔: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒔"
Lately, I've been thinking more about the character of Slick from the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." I've noticed that few people seem to be talking about him and what he did in the series.
In the first season, during the mission to Christophsis, we meet Slick Squad, a small group of clones led by Sergeant Slick. Later, it turns out that someone has betrayed them. Rex and Cody set out to find the traitor, and it turns out that Slick is the traitor.
In the episode we learn that he betrayed because he wanted the clones to finally be free and have the right to choose.
Okay, let's consider why Slick did this. It's very simple. The clones were created for war as living weapons, numbering millions. The clones were born, aging accelerated, and had to mature quickly and mentally prepare for their role as soldiers who would fight and die on the battlefield in the name of the Republic. Furthermore, the clones were required to obediently follow orders and not think about whether what they were doing was wrong or not. Slick himself said that the clones followed orders without a second thought. They were a bit like slaves.
True, Slick said the Separatists offered money, but the most important offer was freedom. You could say Slick wanted freedom for himself and his brothers. He even said he loved his brothers and didn't want to hurt them. However, some people say Slick was a selfish man who didn't even think about his brothers.
Well, he didn't tell his brothers anything. He even tried to pin suspicion on Chopper (I guess, I don't remember corretly), and because of his actions, his brothers almost died. Okay, maybe he didn't tell his brothers about his plan because he thought they'd spill the beans right away. Furthermore, maybe he didn't even realize it would turn out this way.
Furthermore, I'm not entirely happy with Anakin's attitude when Slick confessed his betrayal. Anakin himself grew up in captivity, and the clones were a bit like slaves. Anakin was unlike other Jedi by nature, yet he couldn't show Slick any understanding in this matter? Even though he and Obi-Wan treated their clones well in their battalions. Even Anakin and Obi-Wan remained silent when Slick said the clones followed Jedi orders without a second thought.
In my opinion, Slick had good intentions, but his choices unfortunately led him in the wrong direction. His case in the first season perfectly illustrates the morality of the clones.
