not sure if this is like "what in the world are your ships" or if you're genuinely asking, but I'm going to treat it like the latter:

my gossip girl otp!! they're the romantic heart of the show to me (and blairena/the njbc are the platonic heart). they're peak television! theyre partners in crime and soulmates who Get each other on a whole other level! they start out as the two Worst people who also have a really effed up approach to relationships based on how and where they were raised, but they learn to navigate this and grow throughout the show into something real. they scheme together. they bring all the drama. they would go to absolutely insane lengths for each other. they take matching each other's freak to a whole new level. no one makes as much sense for either character and I'll stand by that!!

serenate

my other gossip girl otp! these two light up around each other in a way that makes my heart so soft. the childhood friends to lovers of it all! the way nate pines for her for YEARS and says she's the most beautiful, alive, amazing person he's ever known ARE YOU KIDDING ME. i think it was so important for serena to have someone who knew her in all seasons of her life, both in her messy, party girl era and later when she was trying to break away from all of that, and loved her through it all. i love how both of them are from the UES world and can understand the pull it has and can sometimes fall into the scheming and drama that comes with that world, but they also both genuinely want to be better and kinder. what's so frustrating is how much the writing failed these two, because there were so many plotlines and moments they could have done something with these two and the potential just goes untapped. it would have been SO EASY to make them endgame in the final season; the pieces were all RIGHT THERE and the fact that the writers ignored those pieces is the loss of my life. (but it's okay bc in my mind, derena marriage doesn't last long, and serenate can still happen down the line.)

vanderbaizen

low key i love these two as much as serenate. they made SO MUCH SENSE TOGETHER. i honestly see these two as twin flames. i think about this post all the time and specifically these tags: "carter is her constant. when she runs he runs with her. her stability isn't staying in one place it's having someone who leaves with her." that perfectly sums up their relationship!! they (and my other nate ship that I'll talk about in a second) felt like the most equally weighted ship on the show, where both were equally pursuing each other and balancing each other well. carter goes to the ends of the earth to help her find her dad. if she jumps on a horse and goes running off, he's going to jump on a horse and go running after her. if she wants to run away, cool, he's already got the plane ticket. and serena gambles and blackmails to earn his freedom back. i love these two so much and low key it's canon to me that serena divorces dan and runs away with carter in a few years.

natessa

this rewatch of gossip girl has honestly made me OBSESSED with these two. i would have been so so happy with a chair, vanderbaizen, natessa endgame. other than vanderbaizen, I think this was the most equally balanced ship on the show. and whereas I think vanderbaizen are twin flames whose souls are the same and click so perfectly because of that, natessa is interesting to me because I think they each bring what the other person needs, like two puzzle pieces clicking together to create a whole picture, and they complement each other so well as a result. they both push each other to learn and grow in really beautiful ways. nate encourages vanessa to take the SAT and consider college. vanessa encourages him to reconnect with his family, etc. they're so well-balanced!! they learn from each other's worlds and both are willing to do the work to understand where the other one is coming from. they travelled the world together like COME ON!! i absolutely LOVE this post and think it's a great analysis of their relationship, especially this part: "Vanessa gives Nate the space and permission to take himself seriously, and Nate gives her the space and permission to take herself less seriously." ugh these two were so good and so underrated and they would have made so much sense as endgame!!
