The wind that once used to
Kiss the leaves
Now tosses them with
A relentless force.
The skies that once used to
Evince limitless scope
Now rage in fury
That makes many hesitant to
Let go of their fears and furore.
The giggles and cries of a child
That was once embraced
By wide eyed adulation
Now seem to seize the air
But not the minds of those
Whom it should matter the most.
The silence between two souls
That was once filled
With unsaid happiness
Now seems to be saddled with
Dust of a remembrance.
Everything that was
A culmination of affection
Now appears to be scattered.
Love and all of its stunted growth
Invades so many lives
Without a warning
Crumbling what was once shared.
