Third on the album is a song called Bloop !, named because there’s bloops in it.
This song starts out in what is technically 4/4, but the snare is placed on the a of 2 and the e of 4, which gives it a feeling of 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4, which makes this song actually 16/16? I just feel it in 5, with an extra long beat at the end. The kick and snare then morph into being on a regular 4 on the floor beat, and we get our main theme. Later in the piece, we return to an ambiguous 16/16 / 4/4 feeling (there’s no kick-snare pattern to follow) before heading into a really fast section of 15/16. The first half is felt in 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, so 5/4 in triplet swing. Then, it switches abruptly to 5 + 5 + 5, for a 3/4 in quintuplet swing feel. Then, we get a section that’s the exact same as the intro, but with 4 sixteenth notes cut off, giving us a technical 12/8, but it just feels like regular-ass 4/4.
