(and then there’s the version of this where they’re in college and Mikorin and Kashima are genderqueer kids rooming together and Kashima is still vaguely hung up on Hori but hasn’t seen him in years and doesn’t know how he’d feel about her going by “they” now and Seo visits every few months when her opera company’s in town and they have kinky roleplay sex, but that’s a story for another time, by which i mean sitting half-written in my WIP folder)
