The Trial and Sentencing Process – A Complete Guide
It’s a common misconception that, after your arrest, your trial takes place almost instantly – and then you receive your sentence in a matter of hours. However, whilst in some cases, the trial process can be swift, on other occasions, it can be a protracted affair, and can take weeks, even months in some instances.

I'm not really too excited. I was charged with MIP and resisting arrest. Like, I get the resisting arrest. But considering I didn't know that Four Loco was in my car, is really messed up. The two girls I was with were the ones planning on drinking it, not me. Those two girls didn't get any tickets and I was the one that got blamed for everything that night. I just have to deal with it though. I never seem to be treated the way I should when it comes to the law.

A Rant About Sentancing
Okay, I'm going to keep this short. I generally try and steer clear of 'heavier' topics on this blog, but this has really riled me up.
A young woman was beaten up by four other women for no reason whatsoever. The entire time the gang that were kicking and hitting the woman on the ground they were yelling racial abuse at her. It was caught on CCTV and the assailants were captured. It sounds straightforward, right? Think about it... what do you think would happen now? A prison term?
No.
The assailants were released because they were unused to drinking alcohol.
This is absolute rubbish!
Alcohol should not be allowed as a defence in this case. The affects of alcohol are well documented and everyone knows the risks they take when they drink it. Even a drunk driver who doesn't injure anyone receives a harsher penalty than this, and generally that is done without any intent to harm. I'm not saying the drivers should be let off, I'm just that as they yelled 'kill the slag' while they ripped into her they obviously intended to do harm.
These girls set upon another like a pack of dogs. They used their feet and their fists to inflict injury. They committed a crime and they deserve to be punished for it. What message is this sending to the public? It's all right to beat someone up, as long as you are drunk?
