I ordered dark blue and silver stone plugs for it, and plan on getting navy blue and silver or just silver heels to wear with it.

Hiii.... I posted these pictures on my Facebook with the caption “black Barbie”..... later on I was at an event and so many people commented saying how beautiful I was! Then I stated jokingly “ I think me and my date were the best looking couple there”NOW people know I joke like that it’s no big deal. But then someone who is biracial said “yeah. For black people” even in 2019 people are still like this 🤦🏾‍♀️

Here’s a lovely prom story: My daughter Catrin (@blythefilms ) had her senior prom tonight. We have had a lot of stuff going on, including moving to a new apartment and college visit trips, and so getting a prom dress got pushed aside. We ordered an inexpensive, but very pretty, dress on Amazon using Prime and paid an extra $25 for it to arrive on Thursday. To sum up the angst—it did not arrive Thursday. So that evening, as I was in a full panic wondering how to find a dress for her in one day without spending hundreds we can’t afford on a dress, I posted to @ladygeeksatx —a terrific group of women-identifying geeks here in Austin. I begged them for ideas on where to shop and asked if anyone had a dress that she could borrow, rent, or buy. And y’all—the response blew us away!!! So many women responded with sympathy, suggestions, and even several dress offers. One lady even posted a request to another local women’s group, and that resulted in @staypolishedaustin offering to do Catrin’s hair and makeup! Amber did a beautiful job, so I would like to pay it forward by strongly recommending her to anyone in the Austin area who needs hair or makeup for a special event. She is a lovely human and I hope will become a new friend! This dress was one of the ones offered to Catrin by a wonderful woman in LGA, and it was perfect! I can’t express my gratitude strongly enough to all these women for reaching out and showing such kindness to a stranger. They made Catrin’s senior prom so very special—way more so than if the dress had arrived on time. She said she felt like she had an entire army of fairy godmothers looking out for her. 😍 Though we didn’t have time to contact them, there is actually an organization here in Austin called @austinfairygodmothers who are dedicated to making sure that all girls can afford beautiful prom dresses.
