Raging flames ravage and consume the village, leaving nothing untouched by its fervid tendrils. Sen chokes and gasps for air as she stumbles through the burning structure. The searing heat rises around the girl, scorching her pale flesh, singeing her kimono as the billowing smoke swirls around her squeezing the air from her lungs. Unable to breathe she falls forward with an audible thud, her cheek slamming against the scorched earth. I have to get out of here. Slowly pushing her body upwards umber hues scan the room searching for someone, anyone that could help her. Eyes blurred and stinging from the flames, she slowly crawls, digging her small hands into the dirt. She hears a frantic voice, "Otou-san! Okaa-san! Where are you? Oniisan I'm here! Over here!"
Sen whips her head around in the direction of the voice, only a short distance away two children huddle together. "We have to go, take my hand." one of them says, grabbing onto the other's hand leading them out of the flaming village towards the white castle in the distance.
Umber hues in wide-eyed panic, Sen reaches out towards them from where she lay. "W-Wait! Come back! Don't leave me!" she cries as hot tears form at the sides of her eyes. "Onegai! Don't leave me."
She frantically attempts to scramble to her feet, but an unseen force holds her down. "Don't leave me." she cries almost to herself as the fires continue to burn around her and envelope her.
Sen's eyes snap open, revealing the darkness inside her bedroom. She quickly sits up, bringing her knees up to her chest as she clutches onto her blanket tightly. Was that just a nightmare? No, it was real. She could still feel the heat on her skin and the smoke invading her lungs. She wraps her small arms around her knees, hugging herself, it was all she could do to hold herself together as she felt she was falling apart. Shuddering at the scene she was just a part of, those flames seemed so real, those children, no they were real. Fresh tears glaze her umber hues, and she shuts her eyes tightly, allowing them to stream down her flushed cheeks.
Early dawn chases away shadows from the horizon, its light seeping into the darkness of her bedroom. Sen doesn't move from her position on the bed. The visions still replays in her mind, raw emotion tearing away at her sanity. Tiny arms still holding tight to her form, clutched around her knees at her chest, holding herself together.
Voices speak in hushed tones outside of her room.
"She has the gift, the visions came to her."
"A great fire in the east, she saw Hirosaki Castle. We must find the children."
"Sen is the next Yase Hime, that's wonderful news."
"We will begin the preparations."
The girl closes her eyes tightly, small hands covering her ears, refusing to understand. I don't want this.

At night I prayThat soon your faceWill fade away
And every time I try to flyI fall without my wingsI feel so smallI guess I need you babyAnd every time I see you in my dreamsI see your face, you’re haunting meI guess I need you baby.
Headcanon: Sen often has visionary dreams/nightmares foretelling the future. One particular dream that she had is about losing her best friend. In this dream he leaves her behind not looking back, going somewhere out of reach from her. This dream still haunts her though adulthood despite her prayers and wishes to forget it.
