Senekal Protest
I am so proud of my people today. Thousands of Afrikaners gathered today in Senekral in front of the courthouse to protest farm murders. Over the last few years white South African farmers (Boers) have been brutally murdered, tortured and, in the case of women and girls, raped by blacks. Last week 21 year old Brendan Horner was tortured, murdered and hanged from a pole for all to see. This was the last straw and today thousands gathered to protest as Brendan’s murderers appeared in court. At one point during the protest everyone put their hands on the court house and entered into collective prayer. Praying for our country. Praying for Brendan and his family. Praying for the safety and the prosperity of our people. The protest did turn violent but this was due to the police deciding to throw stun grenades into the crowd. The protest turned peaceful again once the farmers removed the police from the area.
The Afrikaans people have had a long history of suffering. Most came to South Africa to escape poverty and religious persecution. When the British arrived in the Cape, the Boers packed up their belongings and families and traveled by ox inland in search for farming land. And when the British discovered precocious minerals inland, the Boers fought for their independence. While the men fought for their freedom, their wives, children and the elderly were killed in concentration camps and their farms were burned.
All South Africans face violent crime on a daily basis but the attacks on white farmers has been especially violent and these attacks occur at a far higher frequency than normal crimes.

The media is trying to portray this event as a group of vigilante framers that tried to take the law into their own hands. This is not true. Again all violence was instigated by the police.
Today Afrikaners have stood up and said enough. I am proud to call myself Afrikaans.
