Y'all. Let me say first of all, I have a lot to be thankful for. We did not lose power. There are a lot of areas in the southeast that are still struggling with lasting damage from last weekend's ice storm. We didn't get the worst of it here in South Carolina, but we are just not equipped to deal with frozen precipitation.
These are photos of my back deck. That looks like cute fluffy snow, but let me assure you, it is not. Underneath that 6-12 inch layer of snow/sleet/frozen rain combo, there are 2 inches of solid ice! On the whole floor of this north-facing deck that gets no sun. I've been literally breaking it up with a hammer...that's the only thing that works.
We're supposed to get another snow storm this weekend and since I'm a massive overthinker, I'm worried about all that weight on my deck. So. Back to chipping away. If any of you northerners have any tips on thick ice removal, please send them my way! 🥶
seriously what is time
