I just wanted sencar fluff okay don't judge
Senshi's approach was loud enough to be noted, and noted it was. Cara looked away from her hair, the glare she'd been giving it softened into what was more an expression of consternation than anything else. "I've got werewolf blood in my braids!" She informed him. "Make yourself useful and get it out for me, Sen?" The twinkle in her eye made it seem like a good idea. Still, Senshi pursed his lips, shooting a look over his shoulder towards where he was supposed to be keeping guard, and then back to Cara, clad in nothing but an inviting smirk, the hand not holding her hair trailing almost lazily through the water, leaving ripples in its wake.
"You, my lady, are going to be the death of me," he sighed out at last. Saying no to Cara wasn't really something any of her three boys could do. That raspy giggle of hers carried through the air as he carefully propped his spears against a handy tree (grown not that morning by Gabriel, out hunting with Neas) and stripping down to his underclothes to wade in, drawn steadily forward as ever by Cara's imperiously offered (dripping wet) hand.
The water was cold enough to prompt a yelp from him, cueing the return of Cara's laughter. Shivering slightly, he waded close enough that he could slap a hand through the water, throwing up a spray towards one of the loves of his life. Her laughter cut off with an indignant shriek, and he drew the rest of the way close before she could retaliate, drawing her close and wrapping his arms around her just to be safe. Smiling down at her from the few inches separating them, he couldn't help the wave of affection that welled up in him. Didn't want to fight it, really. Cara softened slightly in his arms as she saw it, a bit of the sharp edging she wore like armour at alll times fading.
"I'd be honoured," she said, and Senshi was for a moment taken aback, unsure as to what she meant.
When it snapped into place, the only thing Senshi could do was lean slightly up to press a kiss to her forehead, completely lost to the enchanting being in his arms. He licked his lips before he spoke, though whether he was taking a moment to compose himself, or whether the action was prompted by a habit formed by the hundreds of times pressing lips to skin had left them bloodied was anyone's guess. "Come on, Cara. Let's get your hair clean."Â
She allowed herself to be led slightly closer to the shallows, to where they could sit, and Senshi bore the coolness of the water as it submerged them up to their shoulders, Cara firmly on his lap. He wasn't sure which was cooler- the girl, or the pond.
Nothing slipped past his broken glass girl, and she elbowed him in the ribs sharply, tucking her head back against his chest. "Before we die, Sen?" Shaking his head to clear it, he tugged on a lock of hair in reply, then set about locating the blood encrusted section. Once he'd laid hands on it, he worked his fingers through it slowly, Cara humming softly as he worked. She hadn't given up the habit when she'd ruined her voice, and in that moment Senshi was glad of it. Her voice added the perfect compliment to the rustle of greenery, the quiet lapping of water, and the rhythmic sound of his own breathing.
Eyes closing as his fingers continued to work, Senshi couldn't help but think there was nowhere else he'd rather be. Cara lived for her mastery of magic, Neas for the thrill of fighting. Gabriel wasn't himself without discovery and exploration, but Senshi?
Senshi lived for moments like these.
