Here at COZY we've always been about supporting the people who are pushing the creative culture in London, whether that's through events, music, art, or food. This Thursday (yes, tomorrow) our pals at Like Water are throwing their launch event at Soho House's Concrete Space, and it's going to be a good one. 

Joining Like Water founder Louis VI (and 1/2 of OthaSoul) on the decks is Soulection's Hannah Faith, London's favourite zine makers and NTS hosts, the Born N Bread DJ's, and of course, the wavey producer that is Souletiquette's SELVSSE. See? We told you it was going to be a good one. So get your shit together and make it down to Concrete Space tomorrow night, and party with the COZY MAG extended family.

The Selvsse sound is iconic, and on 'Sunrise' he's produced a real classic with singer/songwriter Ideh. A smooth boom bap cadence sets the pace for the track and Ideh glides effortlessly over it with her butter scotch vocals.

Creating an enveloping atmosphere and heightening that with brilliant, glistening touches is a recognised feature of Selvsse's soulful production. The accentuation of space on 'Sunrise' is what, for me, makes the track so powerful as the rhythm is carried by a variety of harmoniously balanced sounds. And the track is elevated by Ideh's story, a tale of honest sensuousness that seeps through the speaker and has the listener dreaming of their next shared sunrise.

SELVSSE FEAT. IDEH - SUNRISE

Many fans tell us it’s quite strange to see a music site based in New York which exposes a lot of artists from Europe. For us there’s nothing unusual or bizarre..GOOD MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC EVERYWHERE.  So today we take the flight to London in order to meet the interesting artists involved in the work we’re going to show y’all!  After working on several instrumental projects,including Rituals dropped via Dublin indipendent label Souletiquette (the roster includes Philippe Edison and Masego) and producing songs for many local artists , recently East London producer SELVSSE bewitched us with a song titled Sunrise. The impressive track,displays an artist with a knack for soul, hip hop and r&b. Sunrise is a collaboration alongside fellow citizen IDEH, a young singer/songwriter and engineer,whose music reflects a penchant for 90s r&b music,you know Aaliyah, Brandy and Mariah Carey.. The perfect combination between SELVSSE signature organic melodies and mellow atmospheric sounds and IDEH warm and delectable voice gave us a sultry r&b piece. Taste three minutes of pure pleasure and don’t forget to support the quality music!
