By our favorite @honorcurves ❤️💪👌 I personally do NOT believe anyone has to be healthy to be worthy of love--when people say "I'm glad you promote health, because it's okay to be plus-sized AS LONG AS you're healthy"-- this really grinds my gears. I promote LOVING YOURSELF. Wherever you are today: whatever your mistakes have been, whatever your achievements are--I don't care. I started loving myself at a very unhealthy time in my life. It had nothing to do with medical records & more to do with a sadness in my soul that led to immense self-hatred & self-abusive actions. It took loving myself, the furthest thing from what I thought I deserved in that moment, to experience loving activities in my life, things like: hot yoga, running, cooking for myself, resting, watching Netflix with pals, going to karaoke & singing Paula Abdul with a drink in hand. But I had to love myself without any caveat that said "as long as" I was anything at all. I had to love myself at the depths of my darkest moment. And so, no, I don't think it's okay to love yourself "as long as" you are healthy. I give myself full permission to love myself at any point in time & at EVERY point in time, as that is how I #honormycurves and my life. Let go the need to be anything other than what you are right now, & love the person that you are. Then let that unfold into whatever wonderful things it will unfold into. For me, tonight, love manifested into my longest run in April--and that's okay. If it manifests into a snooze or a glass of wine for you tonight, that's okay too. Less judging; more loving.
