...how long has she been running at this point? She didn’t really know anymore. All she really knew was that now she was lost. Lost in a place she wasn’t supposed to be at. Though, it wasn’t like she had much choice. She needed to get away. To hide away, just for a little bit.
Tears stream down pale cheeks as a soft sniffle emerges from the intruder on the mountain, dress and covered in mud, and now scratches on her arms and legs from running through the branches. She had a bad bruise on her leg after recently tripping on a tree root, and in her arms was a very terrified and worried little piglet, whom she was doing her best to console as much as she could.
The intruder? A young woman no taller than 4′9″ with short red hair, pale skin, and saddened blue eyes. While she could easily be mistaken for a junior high school student or even a high school student, she was in fact a college student. One that had been around the area for unfortunate reasons.
Aika was doing her best to calm herself down, trembling slightly as she clutched her dear friend close to her chest. Even if she was scared, her priority was keeping him safe above all else. She needed to be strong and brave. There had to be a way off this mountain... But which way was she even supposed to go anymore...?
Exhausted from a very stressful situation, she finally lowered herself against a nearby tree, holding back tears as she looked at her outfit. Of course it was just another prank... Another dirty, horrible, nasty prank. She had so much hope for a moment there, only for it to be dashed away in an instant.
Blue eyes turn to her little friend, who by now was gently sniffing and grunting at her in concern. “..We’ll be safe here for now, buddy.. Just...stay in my arms, okay...?” She spoke softly to the animal, petting its head and back in attempt to calm him down. Despite how she wanted to say things would be okay, they honestly didn’t feel like it.
“...Maybe...they were right... About what they said... Maybe...” She muttered a bit, drifting off for a moment as her heart tore apart. “...maybe we really are not wanted by anyone.” Saying that aloud was enough to make the tears fall again, the redhead doing her best to cease her crying.
All she could hear was the sounds of Splice oinking at her in concern, and the sounds of the birds singing in the trees. Her gaze went upwards, biting down on her bottom lip. She needed to calm down. So, she opened her mouth...and just started to sing a little tune to herself, letting the melody calm her head and her heart.
Aika sung one of her favorite songs, the one she always used to calm herself down. The semi-lullaby was soothing to the ears, and even though she was still crying a bit as she did so, it was slowly but surely helping her finally relax. She simply rested against the tree, singing to herself and to Splice. After all, no one would hear them on this mountain...right?
