I feel obligated to be a role model to those around me, hold myself to certain standards, adhere to the social norm of society - most of the time anyways, and lastly to do what is right even when no one is looking. Being a role model never really occurred to me until an incident involving some of my younger friends. Long story but afterwards I vowed to always be aware of my actions and keep in mind the consequences of what can happen when you set a bad example for others to follow. Being a member - leader to be exact - of the YFL community, certain standards have been instilled in me that I feel obligated to live by. Religion plays a big part in that but I also hold myself to my own set of moralities making sure that I never stoop to a level so low that I’m just cheating myself. Doing the right thing even when no one’s looking is always an obligation for me just because of how I was raised and the teachings that I have been drilled into every fiber of my being. Basically, I feel like there’s a lot of things I’m obligated to but most of them stem from how I was raised and a lot of self motivation in improving myself and maintaining how I am.

more to that, I received a very unexpected message from a friend this morning, telling me that she just aced an essay.. which included peeks of myself? I could write a whole novel about how much this means to me but for now I just want to say thank you for trusting me and my versatile mind. People like you really do inspire me to be the best I can be. Congratulations on your essay, D. I'm so proud of you.
