March (Spring?) Resolutions
As an addendum to my existing 7 NY Resolutions, the only one of which I've been succeeding in with any sort of consistency being "go to the gym regularly" (because I now have to PAY for a monthly membership instead of using my school's gym, so if I don't go I feel like I'm wasting my $64. It's a very good motivator):
8. Stop driving so goddamned fast. Are you really in a hurry ALL THE TIME? Did you really need to go 130 to get home this morning? Would the extra 10 minutes that you would've spent driving at 120 really made a huge difference in how the rest of your day panned out? I know you can get to work in half an hour in Sunday morning (ie. nonexistent) traffic, but do you really NEED to? The faster you go, the more gas you waste, the more money you spend. You do not have a lot of the latter and the planet does not have a lot of the former.
Chill out. Do 120. Stop being "that asshole"... because you have absolutely become that asshole on the highways. I don't know by what luck you've managed to avoid being pulled over, but if you keep it up you definitely will be and that ticket is going to be EXPENSIVE. Guess what you can't afford right now? Expensive things. Do you even know how fucking poor you are. Like holy shit. You just got paid and in 2 days insurance is going to take all that money out of your account. Whatever's left will be spent on gas. Two week paycheque gone in 4 days, feels good.
Slow down. Maybe if you weren't late all the time you wouldn't need to be pushing 140 every time you drive.
9. Clean your closet. This month. A little every week. I mean it. Your shelves are toppling and I assure you there are hidden gems you have completely forgotten about because they are buried in the rubble... so you constantly feel as if you need to go shopping. But you don't! No shopping until you get rid of all the stuff you don't currently wear. You can probably even sell some of those tops that still have tags on them. Tags! God you're the worst.
10. Remember that list you made of things to do over winter break? Remember how you barely touched any of the items on that list over winter break, and then over the subsequent reading break? Do you even know where that list is? Find it and finish it. One item a day. Boom.
11. Start applying to internships. Am I crazy enough to set an ambitious goal like one a day for the entirety of March? I think I am. Because any other goal will result in 0 by the end of the month. I know you.
12. Remember how you got a 56 on your finance midterm because you realized that you can't memorize a month and a half worth of finance equations in one night? Yeah let's not do that again. Study every night, ho. Do it while watching hockey, idgaf. Just read a damn chapter every night.
Okay cool, let's check in at the beginning of the summer and push this list to like 20.
