We build our own prisons, brick by brick. Then we throw ourselves against the walls, wailing, thrashing, screaming at the heavens for help. All of this is to no avail, of course, because what we fail to realize is that we are both the prisoners and the jailers. You are the victim and the perpetrator. The walls will not break from the sound of your screams. No one is coming to save you. You are the only one that has the key, and it is the only way out. Sadly sometimes even when we realize this, we have grown so used to our cages that we choose to stay..
