'SPIT IT OUT!'

28. I’m not guilty!
"Why did you choose to invade my home, of all places. Ah, not that I'm complaining seeing as I rather enjoy your company."
"I chose nothing, tanu’che Kyungsoo. Nothing was preordained, from the act of entering an escape vessel to your being able to ask me this question now." The thought of that painful day had her squeezing her eyes shut, and she came closer to him to rest her forehead on his shoulder, pale fingers seeking his for comfort.

What makes the character cry
Chorong has a soft spot for almost everything; seeing old couples on the street, hearing a sad story, a reunion of long lost relatives, movies to be exact. Anything that she sees sentimental and heartfelt, would quickly trigger her eyes into waterworks. Though she appears to have a bright and hyper kind of vibe, she rarely shows this side and its often an unforgettable moment for other people to witness it because she's usually a mess one she's shedding tears.

painting the rose red | kyungsoo + vartouhi
The CD player was a tricky device. It had taken her quite a bit of time to figure out the proper way to insert the little disc Miss Bora had given her. "For practice at home," she'd said. But Vartouhi didn't have a home on Earth. The closest thing was Kyungsoo's apartment, and so that was where she'd gone. He wasn't home, but it hadn't been hard to sneak inside, the glow dying from her eyes as she relocked the door when it shut behind her.
Now here she was in his living room. The sailor uniform Jongdae had given her laid neatly over the armrest of the couch. Meanwhile she lied on its cushions on her back, pale legs extended up into the air, softly kicking left, right, left... right, left, right on six beats of the bass drum. She lifted her hips just slightly on the last extension of her right leg, swinging it down to use the momentum to roll into a sitting position.
From there she mimed taking off a shoe and setting it aside. It was important, she remembered, to practice every movement, even if she didn't have the item at the time. The muscle memory would come in handy later. Clad only in her black bra and panties, she had to mime unclipping the suspenders of stockings on her right leg, and to pretend as though a stocking were stuck on the end of her foot so she could stretch her leg out and back over and over, all in time with the music. Surprisingly this was the most difficult part of the number, and she was glad when she pantomimed throwing away the stocking in favor of putting on her shoe once more. Now she could do the part most similar to dance, which was comfortable and familiar for her. Sliding to face forward on the couch, she kicked her legs out to each side before hopping up, strutting around the room a bit.
"You look like you could use a hand."
She glanced down at the tray of food, as well as the bakery bags in her hands, nodding a few times. "Yeah...I think I look like it too."
Kai liked the feeling of soil between his fingers. He liked to watch things grow and to stay outside for the entire day with dirty under his nails and sweat soaking his shirt. Back on his own home planet, his family was considered poor. They farmed and lived off the land and it was probably the happiest Kai had been when he was younger. Sometimes he helped out with gardening here too, when he was desperate for the money. He didn't like it enough to keep it as a job. That's why the wedding invitation from one of the homes he spruced up wasn't a surprise to him, he viewed them as friends rather than clients.
He had never been to a wedding before. He had heard stories and seen pictures, but the thought of free food, socializing and drinks was too tempting to pass up. And he managed to steal a suit for it, he was all set. Back home they didn't have ceremonies for weddings. Marriage wasn't about love, every pairing was a move on a chessboard. There were reasons behind them that weren't love. Every day he spent on Earth he realized how much less he could have survived back there.
In all of his excitement for the wedding though, he forgot to ask for a date. Kai was clueless when it came to such things, he figured they wouldn't let him through the door without a companion. Learning the human culture was still a work in process. Luckily his answer came in the form of a small man he bumped into on the sidewalk. Kai placed his hands on the shorter man's shoulders to steady him and beams down at him. He would do, he thought to himself. "Sorry about that," he muttered hastily, running his fingers through his hair and huffing. "Look, I need to ask you for a huge favor and I promise it has nothing to do with money. I'm kind of desperate."
