i try to remember that everything is ephemeral and everything falls down eventually but FUCK man i don't WANT that to be true and i don't want to see it happen
Yeah like I know Notre Dame and every other monument and culturally significant building on Earth is gonna collapse or be destroyed at some point but that feels like such an abstract thing until something like this actually HAPPENS. It might be weird to say, but the fact that it was probably just some completely random accident somehow makes this whole thing feel surreal. Like there isn’t ANY reason for it, not even a horrible reason. It just happened. What the hell.
You never think YOU are going to live through this bad of damage to something that iconic. And then you do. And it sucks.
