200 years in the past, people who were capable of controlling one of 12 elements publicly came forward, opening a Pandora’s Box for the entire world. Some good came from it, but it also resulted in many horrors. The revelation grew into a force that shaped the planet, both figuratively and literally.

Even in current day, society is still adjusting to the presence of these wielders, dubbed “elementalists”. While many of these people can control their powers well, some of them, for one reason or another, cannot.

Anima is a young man whose power is one of the most feared: mind elementalism. Fresh out of jail for an incident out of his control, Anima is taken to a correctional facility intended for elementalists like him: those who have difficulties controlling their abilities.

By the nature of its existence, it’s not exactly a safe place. It’s a place where many struggle with issues related to their past actions, voluntary or not. However, the residents make the most of it. Anima hopes to as well, despite suffering from the intense emotions the incident brought. His life wasn’t easy before it all happened, either, but despite his pain, he wants to make the most of the situation, even if his guilt makes him feel undeserving.

Being in a new place is hard, however, even on a good day.

Good days aren’t what landed anybody at this facility.
